Description
The Belden DAUP is a Category 6A plenum-rated Ethernet cable built to perform where it matters most. Whether you're wiring a high-rise office, a healthcare facility, or a school campus, this cable delivers the consistent 10 Gigabit speeds and full PoE++ support that modern networks depend on. With 23 AWG solid bare copper conductors and a CMP-rated Flamarrest jacket, it meets the strictest fire codes for plenum spaces while maintaining top-tier electrical performance across every run.

Features and Applications
Belden engineered this cable with a patented X-Spine® center member that physically separates and holds consistent spacing between the four conductor pairs throughout the entire cable length. This isn't just a design choice—it directly impacts crosstalk performance in a way that generic cables can't replicate. Paired with EquiBlock Barrier Technology, the cable delivers serious alien crosstalk reduction, which becomes critical in dense horizontal runs where multiple Cat6A cables are bundled and routed side by side.
The FEP insulation keeps electrical characteristics stable across a wide frequency range, and the Flam arrest low-smoke PVC jacket minimizes smoke output in fire conditions—exactly what building codes require for cables installed in plenum air-handling spaces. A built-in ripcord makes jacket removal clean and fast during termination. The cable also features descending footage and meter markings printed directly on the jacket, so installers know at a glance exactly how much cable remains on the reel during a pull.
Uses
This cable is a natural fit for:
- 10GBASE-T horizontal and backbone runs in enterprise networks
- High-density data centers where alien crosstalk control is non-negotiable
- Plenum and air-handling spaces in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, and government facilities—anywhere CMP-rated cable is required by fire code
- IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ applications (Type 1, 2, 3, and Type 4) for powering IP cameras, wireless access points, digital displays, and VoIP phones over the cable itself
- Structured cabling systems requiring third-party verified Category 6A channel performance
Construction
The cable is made up of four pairs of 23 AWG solid bare copper conductors, each wrapped in FEP insulation and color-coded White & Blue, White & Orange, White & Green, and White & Brown for easy identification. Belden's patented X-Spine® center member runs the full length of the cable, keeping all four pairs in precise, consistent positions for predictable electrical performance from one end to the other. Equi Block Barrier Technology is built directly into the cable structure—not added on—to tackle alien crosstalk at the source. The outer jacket is Flam arrest PVC-LS compound, finished at a nominal diameter of 0.250 in (6.35 mm). A ripcord runs alongside the jacket interior for tool-free stripping at termination points.
