Hubbell C6ASPDSX NEXTSPEED CAT6A Plenum 23AWG RD Solid Copper CMP UTP 1000ft Ethernet Cable (RIB)

Hubbell NEXTSPEED Cat6A Plenum (CMP) UTP Cable — 1000ft Reel

Hubbell C6ASPDSX NEXTSPEED Category 6A Plenum (CMP) cable delivers reliable 10GBASE-T performance over a full 100-meter channel while meeting the strictest fire-safety requirements for plenum air-handling spaces. Built with 23 AWG solid bare copper conductors and a flame-retardant, low-smoke PVC jacket, this 1000ft reel is engineered for network installers, engineers, and procurement teams that need certified, code-compliant structured cabling.

Available in Blue (C6ASPDSB), White (C6ASPDSW), and Gray (C6ASPDSGY).

Why Installers Choose This Cable

Most Cat6A plenum cable on the market is sold on price alone. This Hubbell NEXTSPEED reel is sold on verified performance. It is third-party verified as a Category 6A component, carries a +7 dB alien crosstalk headroom above the standard requirement, and is LP Listed for high-heat, high-power PoE applications — a listing most commodity Cat6A plenum cable does not carry. If you are running 10GBASE-T backbone, PoE++ devices, or HDBaseT AV over a plenum return air path, those certifications are what keep the installation compliant and the channel certified at test time.

Performance & Compliance

This cable is component compliant with ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 and ISO/IEC 11801, and supports Ethernet applications from 10BASE-T through 10GBASE-T. It is fully PoE-ready, certified for IEEE 802.3af (PoE), IEEE 802.3at (PoE+), and IEEE 802.3bt (4PPoE Type 3 and 4), with a temperature rise of only 8.2°C in a 100-cable bundle and 82.8% power efficiency at maximum temperature. Alien crosstalk performance provides +7dB headroom above standards.

Reduced Diameter Construction — More Drops Per Pathway

The reduced-diameter jacket measures just 0.260 in O.D., noticeably slimmer than standard Cat6A plenum constructions. In practice this means more cables fit inside a given conduit or cable tray, pulls through tight bends and congested pathways are easier, and cable management in dense racks takes less time. For high-density data center and enterprise deployments, reduced diameter Cat6A plenum cable directly reduces labor hours and pathway fill problems.

Each reel features 23 AWG solid bare copper conductors with FEP insulation, a non-conductive isolation wrap, and a crossweb filler for consistent geometry. Pair configuration: Pair 1 White/Blue, Pair 2 White/Orange, Pair 3 White/Green, Pair 4 White/Brown.

Listings & Certifications

UL/c(UL) Listed, LP Listed for high heat/high power PoE applications, NEC Article 800 compliant, HDBaseT Certified, and RoHS/RoHS 2 compliant. Third-party verified for quality assurance.

Hubbell NEXTSPEED vs. Standard Cat6A Plenum Cable

Frequently Asked Questions

What is plenum-rated Cat6A cable?

Plenum-rated (CMP) Cat6A cable is jacketed with a low-smoke, flame-retardant compound specifically approved for installation in air-handling spaces — the plenum areas above drop ceilings and below raised floors where return air circulates. NEC Article 800 requires plenum-rated cable in these spaces because standard riser or PVC jacket cable releases toxic smoke and propagates flame. This Hubbell reel is UL/c(UL) Listed and NEC Article 800 compliant for exactly that application.

What is the difference between Cat6A riser and plenum cable?

The difference is the jacket compound and where code permits installation. Riser-rated (CMR) Cat6A may be run vertically between floors in a riser shaft but not in air-handling spaces. Plenum-rated (CMP) Cat6A, like this cable, is approved for both riser and plenum use because its jacket meets the stricter smoke and flame-spread requirements. If your pathway passes through a return air plenum, you must use CMP.

Is Cat6A always shielded?

No. Cat6A is available in both unshielded (UTP) and shielded (F/UTP, S/FTP) constructions. This product is UTP — unshielded twisted pair — which is the correct choice for most enterprise and data center runs where alien crosstalk is managed through the cable's internal cross web filler and geometry rather than a foil shield. Choose shielded Cat6A only where the environment has heavy EMI or where the specification calls for it.

What is the Cat6A standard?

Cat6A (Category 6A, or Augmented Category 6) is defined by ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 and ISO/IEC 11801, specifying performance to 500 MHz and supporting 10GBASE-T over a full 100-meter channel. This cable is component compliant with both standards and third-party verified.

What is the maximum length for Cat6A cable?

100 meters (328 feet) for a complete channel — up to 90 m of permanent link plus 10 m of patch cords. This 1000 ft reel covers roughly three full 100 m channels.

Is Cat6A overkill for home use?

For a typical home network running gigabit internet, Cat6 is usually sufficient. Cat6A becomes the right choice when you are running 10GBASE-T between switches or NAS devices, deploying high-power PoE++ access points or cameras, or wiring a space where re-cabling later would be disruptive. In a plenum air-handling space, the CMP rating is a code requirement regardless of category.

Can this cable be used for PoE++ and HDBaseT?

Yes. It is certified for IEEE 802.3bt 4PPoE Type 3 and Type 4, with an 8.2°C temperature rise in a 100-cable bundle and 82.8% power efficiency at maximum temperature. It is also HDBaseT Certified for AV-over-IP distribution.

Ideal Applications

Data center backbone and top-of-rack cabling, enterprise LAN horizontal runs, plenum return air pathways, PoE++ wireless access point and IP camera deployments, HDBaseT AV distribution, and any 10GBASE-T installation requiring a certified, code-compliant Cat6A plenum cable in blue, white, or gray.
