Construction

A 100% coverage bi-laminate (aluminum + polyester) tape shield with a 26 AWG tinned copper drainwire wraps the inner jacket, delivering the "F" in F/UTP — a single overall foil shield without individual pair shielding.

The outer jacket uses Belden's patented X-Spline® center member as a separator, maintaining pair separation and cable geometry without adding significant bulk. The jacket compound itself is Flamarrest® PVC, Belden's low-smoke flame-retardant formulation that meets the stringent requirements of UL 910 and NFPA 262 for plenum environments.
